FIRST STEPS IN TANGO - LEVELS 1 & 2
(Open to all levels)
An introduction to the fundamentals and principles of Argentine tango. This class will focus on the basics of the tango movements as well as challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and learn the importance of a correct embrace, how to use it and how to build a connection with your partner.
INTERMEDIATE TANGO - LEVELS 3 & 4
(Requires knowledge of Tango basics)
A deeper dive and immersion into the world of tango through social dancing. This class will teach the foundations of dancing in a “Milonga” (social dance), including the correct use of space, how to navigate the line of dance and the underlying codes of the dance.
You will learn more advanced tango steps and sequences that will not only elevate your dance but will prepare you to step onto the dance floor with confidence.
ADVANCED TANGO - LEVELS 5, 6, & 7
Take your tango to a higher level and discover the intricacies of the dance. Training will focus on enriching individual techniques and learning to adapt your dance style to the unique characteristics of different tango orchestras and eras, including Tango Nuevo.
This class will give you tips to increase your flexibility, learn to relax and lean into music.
TECHNIQUE - ALL LEVELS
FOLLOWERS: The class focuses on balance, flexibility and fluidity of movements while reviewing the fundamental elements of tango. We will learn the variety of techniques and the way to express yourself through them
with elegance and ease.
LEADERS: The goal of the class is to build confidence in your tango lead through the refinement of your individual style. We will include foot exercises, work on posture and musicality. We will also discuss the codes and etiquette on and off the dance floor in a milonga setting.
TANGO FOR ALL - OPEN TO ALL AGES
KIDS: Tango has many physical and mental developmental benefits for children as they learn to develop body awareness and gain a sense of discipline. This class will combine dance and play for children while learning coordination and balance through music and dance expression.
DANCE TEAM: This class is an opportunity to join our Tanda Dance team and express your passion for tango in front of an audience. We will collaborate with you to choreograph and execute your own unique show. The final product will be your own show in our space that you can share with your friends and family.
SPECIAL CLASSES
Enhance your dance by developing specific techniques that relate to the different styles of tango music. This class will help you understand the nuances and characteristics of each musical genre and will enrich the way you express your dance.
MILONGA Levels 3, 4 & 5:
Discover graceful and rhythmic movements of the Milonga.
VALS Levels 3, 4 & 5:
Experience the elegance and musicality of the vals.
Practica
It a 2 hour long practice set in an informal social dance environment that includes a brief introduction of a tango sequence chosen by the instructor. Students are then given time to either dance, practice on their own or practice the sequence under the guidance of the instructor and/or assistant.
